Research Disclosures
EFFECTIVE: AUG 8, 2026
VERSION: 2026-08-08
Narrows two claims to what the product does. Exports: states that every exported value is labelled with its origin, that an as-of date and a filing citation travel with a value where the underlying record carries them, and that an unavailable value appears as a blank without the reason it is unavailable. Availability: states not substituting zero for an unavailable value as AltHarbor’s standard, met by totals built through its shared calculation, and states that some older aggregation paths remain exceptions. Prior versions: 2026-08-05, 2026-07-11.
AltHarbor publishes source-linked research and data on semi-liquid alternative investment funds. It organizes information from regulatory filings, offering materials, fund reports, and other identified sources; normalizes selected data for research use; calculates certain derived metrics; and publishes educational material and research commentary.
These disclosures may appear in layers where a field, source view, or product surface supports that presentation. A short qualification may appear beside a material figure, an expandable view may show the source and methodology behind it, and this page states each policy in full. Where more than one layer is present, they describe the same limits at different depths — the caption next to a number and the section here that it links to say the same thing.
A disclosure cannot cure a misleading figure. Where qualifications appear beside the data itself, the label, source, as-of date, and methodology travel with that figure rather than living only on this page.
General website and research disclaimer
AltHarbor is provided for general informational, educational, and research purposes. Nothing on AltHarbor is an offer to sell, a solicitation of an offer to buy, or a recommendation to buy, sell, hold, avoid, or allocate to any security, fund, strategy, manager, or account.
Coverage is selective, not exhaustive. AltHarbor does not reproduce every term, fact, update, risk, conflict, fee, tax consequence, or eligibility requirement that may be material, and it does not cover every fund, share class, or period. AltHarbor pages are not offering documents and do not replace a fund’s prospectus, private placement memorandum, supplements, financial statements, or regulatory filings.
Semi-liquid and private-market funds can involve substantial risk, including limited or no public trading, restricted and discretionary liquidity, valuation uncertainty, leverage, conflicts of interest, substantial fees, and loss of principal. See the Essential Alternative-Investment Risk Statement.
Before making or advising on any investment decision, verify AltHarbor information against the fund’s current offering and governing documents and consult qualified advisers. If AltHarbor information conflicts with a fund’s operative documents or with another identified authoritative source for that field, the operative documents and the field-appropriate authoritative source control. A newer source is not automatically controlling for every field.
Not investment advice; no recommendation
AltHarbor does not provide personalized investment, legal, tax, accounting, or other professional advice. It does not recommend or endorse any fund, security, manager, strategy, or transaction, does not determine whether any investment is appropriate or suitable for any person, and does not execute transactions or accept investment orders.
Search results, screen order, comparisons, watchlists, alerts, labels, calculated fields, research commentary, and any AI-assisted output are research tools. They are not personalized advice, a suitability determination, a fiduciary recommendation, an investment rating, or a promise of outcome. A user’s decision to save, compare, or monitor a fund does not cause AltHarbor to assess that fund for the user.
Use of AltHarbor does not create an adviser, broker, fiduciary, or client relationship. Content is impersonal and published to all users on the same basis; AltHarbor does not know the facts relevant to any user or client and does not monitor whether information remains suitable for any person. Users remain responsible for independent diligence, and financial professionals remain responsible for their own legal, regulatory, fiduciary, and client-communication obligations.
Data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness
AltHarbor seeks to preserve source evidence and identify the source date for material data, but it does not guarantee that any information is accurate, complete, current, comparable, or suitable for a particular purpose.
Fund information may be delayed, amended, restated, corrected, withdrawn, or superseded, and sources may use inconsistent definitions, classifications, dates, or units — two authoritative sources can conflict. A “not located” or blank field means only that the item was not found in the sources and review process identified for that field; it does not establish that the information does not exist.
Automated collection, document parsing, AI-assisted extraction, normalization, and human review can each introduce error. Calculations can be affected by source errors, missing inputs, rounding, sign conventions, currency conversion, date alignment, share-class mapping, and methodology choices.
Where the product supplies them, read a material figure with its source or source description, as-of date, unit, share class, scope, and methodology. When a source link is available, verify the figure against that source before relying on it; otherwise consult the applicable current fund documents. To report a possible error, use the Corrections process.
Reported, Normalized, Derived, and Editorial: the label set
AltHarbor uses the following labels so users can evaluate what a displayed value or statement represents.
- Reported — reproduces or closely restates a value located in the cited source. “Reported” describes the source relationship; it does not mean AltHarbor or an auditor independently verified the item, and a reported value can still be preliminary, estimated, amended, conflicting, or stale.
- Normalized — reported information mapped into AltHarbor’s taxonomy or a common format. Units, periods, naming, categories, dates, currencies, or share classes may be aligned. Normalization improves usability but cannot eliminate substantive differences among fund structures, accounting policies, or source definitions.
- Derived — calculated by AltHarbor from identified inputs using a stated formula or rule. Derived values are not reported by the fund unless expressly labeled otherwise, and they depend on input quality, period selection, denominator choice, fee and distribution treatment, and missing-data rules.
- Editorial — an AltHarbor-authored explanation, summary, headline, or contextual observation. Editorial content is kept distinct from extracted source facts and is not presented as language issued by a fund or third-party source.
Separate qualifiers may apply to a reported, normalized, derived, or editorial item: Estimated depends on stated assumptions or incomplete inputs; Preliminary is subject to later finalization; Amended identifies a later revision; Conflicting identifies unresolved disagreement among relevant sources; and Stale identifies a source date that materially lags the period for which the item is being used.
Availability is a different question from origin. Not disclosed means the identified source review did not locate the field. Not yet extracted means relevant source material has been identified but AltHarbor has not completed the field. Not applicable means the field does not apply to the structure, strategy, or reporting regime. Failed means a collection, processing, data, or rendering problem prevented the value from being produced. AltHarbor’s standard is not to substitute zero for an unavailable value. Where a total is built through AltHarbor’s shared calculation, an undisclosed component is excluded and the figure is published with the components it does cover. Some older surfaces that add up a column of filed figures do not yet work that way; those are tracked as known exceptions, and where a total sits beside a component marked unavailable, read the total as covering the observed part only.
A single presentation may combine categories—for example, reported NAV with an AltHarbor-derived return—and components should be identified separately by label, source, date, and basis. A calculated, normalized, or estimated value is never labeled simply as reported. Comparisons organize disclosed information and do not establish that funds or values are economically equivalent. Full definitions and method-change history are available on Methodology.
AI-assisted research and extraction
AltHarbor may use artificial intelligence and other automated tools to locate, extract, classify, map, compare, or summarize information from identified source materials, and may apply human review to selected fields or content. AI-assisted outputs are intended to be read with identified source materials; those materials, not the AI-generated language, are the evidence.
AI systems can omit context, misread tables or footnotes, confuse entities or share classes, use an incorrect period, or produce unsupported inferences — and human review can also miss errors. AltHarbor does not represent that AI-assisted content is error-free, complete, or independently verified. Verify material statements against the cited filing before relying on them.
AI-assisted output is impersonal research tooling. It is not a recommendation, suitability analysis, valuation opinion, credit rating, legal conclusion, or prediction, and AltHarbor does not produce personalized AI outputs for any user.
Performance data
Performance information is historical. Past performance does not predict future results, and no performance presentation on AltHarbor is a recommendation or a forecast of what an investor will earn.
Performance can differ materially by share class, start and end dates, valuation frequency, reinvestment assumption, fee and expense treatment, sales loads, currency, and calculation methodology. Labels and surrounding context may identify the return type, period, share class, fee treatment, and reinvestment assumption where the source and product surface support those attributes. If an attribute is not stated, do not infer a particular treatment; consult the cited source or applicable fund documents. Returns for one share class may not represent returns available to another investor.
Derived returns are AltHarbor calculations from cited inputs, not fund-reported figures. NAV-based performance depends on the fund’s valuation process and may include assets valued with significant unobservable inputs — a smooth NAV series does not establish low economic risk or ready liquidity. Annualized figures convert a stated-period result into an annual rate and can magnify short-period outcomes; since-inception results are sensitive to inception date and may not be comparable across funds.
Benchmark and peer comparisons are only as meaningful as the comparability of the instruments, dates, fees, liquidity, and data coverage; a public-market index differs structurally from a semi-liquid private-market fund.
Distribution rate, yield, and return of capital
A distribution rate describes distributions relative to a stated price, NAV, or other denominator over a stated period. It is not yield, income earned, total return, or expected return, and it does not show whether the fund earned the amount distributed. Where the source and product surface support them, a displayed distribution rate may be accompanied by its denominator, denominator date, measurement period, and annualization treatment. If those attributes are not stated, do not infer them; consult the cited source or applicable fund documents.
Distributions can be paid from net investment income, realized gains, offering proceeds, borrowings, expense support, fee waivers, or return of capital, or a combination. Return of capital generally reduces an investor’s economic capital in the fund and may reduce tax basis; it is not income merely because it was distributed in cash. A high distribution rate can coexist with a flat or negative total return.
Distribution amounts and frequency are not guaranteed and may be increased, reduced, deferred, or suspended. The tax character of distributions is preliminary until final tax reporting, and funds may later reclassify it. AltHarbor’s distribution calculations may differ from a fund’s figures because of period selection, annualization, denominator, share class, and source availability. AltHarbor does not provide tax advice.
Liquidity, tender, and repurchase programs
Shares of many covered funds are not listed on a public exchange and generally have no active secondary market. Investors should not assume they can sell or redeem shares when they choose.
A stated repurchase, tender, or redemption program is a policy subject to its governing documents and announced terms — it is not an assurance of liquidity. Repurchases and tenders may be limited, reduced, prorated, delayed, modified, or suspended, and a fund may decline to make a future offer, subject to applicable documents and law.
Policy, Requested, and Accepted are distinct quantities: the program’s stated capacity, the amount investors asked to sell, and the amount the fund actually accepted are not interchangeable, and AltHarbor distinguishes them where the source permits. Stated policy capacity does not establish realized investor access to liquidity, and historical acceptance does not guarantee future acceptance.
Liquidity comparisons across interval funds, tender-offer funds, non-traded REITs, and BDCs can be misleading unless legal form and program mechanics are aligned. Review the fund’s current repurchase or tender materials and subsequent disclosures; investors should be able to hold the investment indefinitely.
Valuation and NAV
NAV and other values shown by AltHarbor are estimates or measurements produced under the identified fund, manager, administrator, or third-party process. AltHarbor does not independently appraise assets or issue valuation opinions.
Manager-reported NAV, GAAP net asset value, fair value, cost, par value, amortized cost, and transaction price are distinct measures and are not interchangeable. The label and surrounding context may identify the measure, valuation date, share class, or scope where those attributes are available; if an attribute is not stated, do not infer it.
Private and thinly traded assets may lack observable market prices and may be valued using models, appraisals, manager estimates, or other significant unobservable (Level 3) inputs. Such values can be stale, can lag market events, and may differ materially from the price realized in a sale, tender, or stressed market.
Staleness matters: a displayed value applies as of its valuation date, and later events may not be reflected. AltHarbor-derived changes in NAV are not necessarily total returns and may not include distributions or investor-level fees.
Third-party sources and external links
AltHarbor uses and links to regulatory filings, offering and fund documents, manager publications, public records, and other third-party content. A link or citation identifies evidence or context; it is not an endorsement of the source or an affiliation with its publisher.
Third-party content remains subject to the rights, terms, corrections, and availability of its owner or provider. AltHarbor does not control external sites and is not responsible for their content, security, or continued availability. A source document may be amended, moved, restricted, or removed after AltHarbor’s retrieval date, and the version AltHarbor cites may not be the latest.
Unless expressly stated, AltHarbor does not grant users a license to reproduce or redistribute third-party materials, fund documents, logos, benchmark data, or other provider content. Users are responsible for the terms and rights applicable to their own use of an external source.
Trademarks and non-affiliation
Fund names, manager names, product names, and other trademarks displayed or referenced on AltHarbor belong to their respective owners. AltHarbor uses these names nominatively — to identify the subjects and sources of its research — and their use does not imply sponsorship, endorsement, approval, or affiliation by or with those firms.
Unless a page contains a clear, specific disclosure to the contrary, AltHarbor is not sponsored by, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any covered fund, manager, sponsor, adviser, distributor, issuer, or data provider. Coverage, comparison, citation, or a correction submitted by a manager does not by itself indicate approval of AltHarbor’s content.
No regulatory agency has approved AltHarbor, its content, or any covered investment. For AltHarbor’s policy on compensation and commercial relationships, see Conflicts. Questions concerning a mark or claimed right: legal@altharbor.io.
Educational content
AltHarbor educational content explains terms, structures, filings, analytical methods, and market practices in general terms. It is not a complete statement of law, regulation, tax treatment, fund terms, or investment risk, and it may not reflect later developments or facts specific to a fund or investor.
Examples are illustrative, not recommendations or complete risk analyses. They may simplify facts, omit fees or taxes, or rely on assumptions that do not hold in practice. A fund’s governing and offering documents control its actual terms.
Research commentary
Research commentary reflects AltHarbor’s analysis of the cited information as of its publication date. Reported facts and AltHarbor analysis are labeled: phrases such as “the filing states” and “the available data appears to indicate” describe the evidentiary basis and limits of each observation.
Commentary may become outdated when a fund files an amendment, issues a correction, changes a program, or reports a later period, and AltHarbor is not obligated to update every item immediately. Commentary is not a credit rating, valuation opinion, manager rating, recommendation, or complete risk assessment.
A fund or manager may disagree with AltHarbor’s classification or interpretation and may submit supporting information through Corrections. AltHarbor retains editorial control.
Downloaded reports and exports
A downloaded report or export is a snapshot of AltHarbor content as of its generation time. It may become outdated after download and may omit later filings, corrections, methodology changes, or context available in the live service.
Every value in an export’s metric tables is labelled with its origin, and with its methodology note where AltHarbor states one. A value may also carry an as-of date, a citation identifying the filing it was read from, and a provenance marker. Read those fields on the row itself rather than inferring them from another row: which of them travelled into the file varies by metric. Where a row compares several funds and they do not all carry the same one of those fields, each is named with the fund it belongs to; a field shown without a fund name is one every fund in that row shares. Where one is absent, that is a limit of what the file carries, not a statement about the value — a value with no citation may still have been read from a filing. Figures outside the metric tables, such as counts computed across the set, carry no per-value metadata at all. Preserve these fields when using the material, and do not present a derived or estimated field as a value reported by a fund.
A value AltHarbor does not have appears in an export as an empty cell, and the export does not say which kind of unavailability it is. On AltHarbor itself the distinction between not disclosed, not yet extracted, not applicable, and a failure is shown where it is known; that distinction does not currently travel into a downloaded file. Read an empty cell as “no value in this export”, not as zero, not as nil, and not as a statement that the fund disclosed nothing.
Exported material is for use under the Terms of Use and the applicable license; it is not for redistribution beyond the permitted license, and it may contain third-party content subject to separate rights. Verify against any linked sources and current fund documents before relying on an export.
Email and alerts
AltHarbor alerts and emails identify selected filings, disclosed events, data changes, or research updates based on the user’s settings and AltHarbor’s available data. Each alert states the source event it describes; the source-event date and the send date may differ, and delivery may be delayed, interrupted, duplicated, or incomplete.
An alert is not a recommendation, a trade instruction, or a monitoring guarantee. Alerts may not capture every filing, amendment, repurchase window, or other material event, and they are not a service on which to rely to meet a legal, fiduciary, or client obligation. Monitor official sources and current fund documents independently.
A headline or email excerpt may omit qualifications available in the linked evidence. Review the cited source before acting or advising.
Essential Alternative-Investment Risk Statement
Funds covered by AltHarbor may be speculative and involve a high degree of risk. They are not suitable for every investor; an investor should be able to bear an indefinite holding period and a complete loss of principal. This summary is not exhaustive.
- Limited liquidity and no public market. Shares may not be listed or actively traded; transfers can be restricted. Repurchase and tender programs may be limited, discretionary, oversubscribed, prorated, suspended, or terminated.
- Valuation uncertainty. Private and Level 3 assets may be valued with models, appraisals, or manager estimates using significant unobservable inputs; values may be stale, smoothed, or revised and may differ materially from realizable prices.
- Leverage. Borrowing, derivatives, and structural leverage can magnify gains and losses, increase expenses, and force asset sales or distribution reductions.
- Credit and default risk. Private credit funds can experience defaults, restructurings, non-accruals, and loss; payment-in-kind interest can increase reported income without providing current cash.
- Fees and expenses. Management, incentive, servicing, distribution, and other fees can be substantial and vary by share class.
- Conflicts of interest. Managers and affiliates may allocate investments, expenses, valuations, or transactions among vehicles and engage in related-party transactions; conflicts may not be resolved in the fund’s favor.
- Distributions and return of capital. Distributions are not guaranteed and may be funded from sources other than income, including return of capital; a distribution rate is not yield or total return.
- Concentration. A fund may be concentrated by borrower, sponsor, sector, geography, property type, or strategy, amplifying exposure to adverse events.
- Tax complexity. Tax results vary by investor, jurisdiction, and structure; funds may issue complex or delayed tax information, and distribution character may change in final reporting.
AltHarbor restates and analyzes selected disclosed information; it does not identify every risk, conflict, fee, waiver, tax consequence, or eligibility rule. Review each fund’s current offering and governing documents, financial statements, repurchase or tender materials, and regulatory filings, and consult qualified advisers.
