  • Analytics data — page views, referrer, device type, and general location (country/region) via Vercel Analytics. This data is aggregated and not tied to individual identities.
  • Email (if subscribed) — if you sign up for updates, we collect your email address to send newsletters. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • Inbound messages — if you contact us by email, we retain that correspondence.

How We Use Your Information

We use the data we collect to:

  • Understand how the site is used and improve content and navigation
  • Send editorial newsletters (subscribers only, opt-out available)
  • Respond to inquiries
  • Diagnose technical issues
We do not use your data for advertising targeting, profiling, or any automated decision-making.

Cookies and Tracking

AltHarbor uses minimal cookies necessary for site functionality. We use Vercel Analytics, which is privacy-first and does not use third-party cookies or fingerprinting. We do not run advertising pixels or social tracking scripts.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data with:

  • Service providers — Vercel (hosting/analytics), Sanity (CMS). These providers have their own privacy policies and process data only as directed by us.
  • Legal requirements — if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights of AltHarbor or its users.

Data Retention

Analytics data is retained per Vercel's standard retention policy. Subscriber email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe. Inbound correspondence is retained for up to two years.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@altharbor.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Security

We implement appropriate technical measures to protect data in transit and at rest. However, no internet transmission is 100% secure. If you believe your information has been compromised, please contact us immediately.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
